  Deloitte in Gibraltar

Deloitte and our predecesor firm in Gibraltar was established in 1991 by Gibraltarian born Joseph Caruana and Stephen Reyes who are both UK qualified Chartered Accountants. Both partners have extensive experience gained from working in international firms, in the UK and in Gibraltar.

Under their direction Deloitte has grown to become one of the leading accounting and auditing firms in Gibraltar. Deloitte provides a full range of services in Gibraltar in the areas of audit and accountancy, international and local taxation and management consultancy.

Our fully owned subsidiary Merchant Corporate Services Limited provides a full range of company formation and administration services.

Joseph “Pepe” Caruana (Senior Partner) has been working in public practice for over twenty years first in the City of London and then in Gibraltar. A chartered accountant, Pepe has extensive experience in servicing international audit clients operating in Gibraltar with primary responsibility for the firms’ banking and investment fund clients. Pepe has served as President of the Gibraltar Society of Accountants and Chairman of the Gibraltar Finance Centre Council and is presently a member of the Financial Services Commission.
   

Stephen Reyes (Managing Partner) has also been working in public practice as a Chartered Accountant for over twenty years, initially in the City of London and later in Gibraltar. He leads Deloitte’s tax practice advising both international companies and private clients. As President of the Gibraltar Society of Accountants, Stephen sits on the Gibraltar Finance Centre Council and is actively involved in Gibraltar’s development as a leading financial jurisdiction.
   
Joe Montovio (Partner) heads our business outsourcing and advisory services department and has been working in this field for over twenty years. Joe is a specialist in trouble shooting accounting system problems for clients and in assisting with the computerisation of the accounting function.
   
Daniel Delgado (Partner) qualified as a chartered accountant with a ‘Big 4’ firm in London. There he specialised in the audit of insurance companies within their Financial Services Division. Since joining Deloitte in Gibraltar in 2001 he has taken leading roles in the audits of banks, insurance companies, and other leading local clients and currently heads our audit department.
